Student Thouraya Khodor enters Lebanon’s youth parliament
Student Thouraya Khodor from the Institute of Social Sciences (Branch 3) was elected as a member of the first Lebanese youth parliament for the Minieh-Danniyeh National Constituency within the “Young Change Makers Alliance”.
Thouraya presented to the elections with a twenty-item electoral program that notes the importance of the demand to:
- Raise the budget of the Lebanese University and develop its programs
- Include mental health in school curricula
- Include psychotherapy costs in Social Security
- Include youth quotas in municipal council elections
- Re-include and approve the women's quota in parliament, government and political parties
- Integrate people with strong will in all sectors, fields, and private and public schools
Soraya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the Institute of Social Sciences (Branch 3), and is currently pursuing a professional master in counseling and guidance.
