Call for applications for the SAFAR 2025 PhD scholarship program
The French Embassy in Lebanon has just launched the 2025 call for applications for the SAFAR doctoral scholarship program. These grants, co-financed by the Lebanese University and the French Embassy, are awarded to Lebanese doctoral students enrolled in a cotutelle thesis with a French institution from the start of the 2025 academic year.
Their aim is to initiate a research project or strengthen existing scientific collaboration.
Funding from the French Embassy covers the stay in France of selected PhD students for 3 academic years (4 calendar years), alternating with a stay in Lebanon. The total duration of the stay in France should be 18 months and may not exceed 6 months per year. As an indication: 4 months in 2025; 6 months in 2026; 6 months in 2027; 2 months in 2028.
The application file should be submitted and finalized on
https://institut-francais-du-liban.wiin.io/fr/applications/bourses-safar-2025-appel-a-candidatures to be submitted before 1 April 2025.
The application should also be submitted to the IRO of the Lebanese University at the following address: dri@ul.edu.lb.
