Professional Master in Information Management

The Faculty of Information adopts curricula in line with the communication revolution and technological development worldwide. The curricula include media sciences, technology, general culture, languages, etc.

The research center at the Faculty includes a department for studies, research and documentation, and a center for media training.

Description

This program places great emphasis on the importance and the primary role of information and communications technology, and links it at the same time with the profound transformations unfolding in the profession of libraries, through a set of practical and theoretical courses that respond to these developments and transformations:

  • Digital libraries and everything related thereto in terms of their management and requirements of creation;
  • E-services in libraries using web generations (Web 2.0, Semantic Web, etc.);
  • Electronic archiving of documents and how to set up an integrated document and archive system in public and private institutions;
  • Knowledge management in institutions and information centers.

    745,000 LBP (Lebanese/Palestinian students) and 1,745,000 LBP (Non-Lebanese students) during the academic year.

Requirements

General conditions + Special conditions

  • This master receives students succeeding in the first year of master from the Department of Information Management.
  • A Competitive Entrance Exam (CEE) is conducted, if the number of candidates exceeds the required number of students.
  • It is required to obtain a cumulative GPA for the bachelor courses of not less than 3/5 according to the grading scale adopted at the Lebanese University (or 12/20) according to what is currently approved.
