The 3D Printing Laboratory granted as a gift from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), was inaugurated on 9 July 2021 at the Faculty of Technology (Branch 1), in the presence of the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Fouad Ayoub, and the Turkish Ambassador to Beirut, Ali Barış Ulusoy.

Dean Al-Hajjar considered that the new laboratory will enhance the existing laboratories in the faculty, namely for the specialization of industrial engineering, maintenance, and the master in mechatronics.

President Ayoub considered that this meeting is an affirmation of the importance of strengthening cooperation and friendship relations between Lebanon and Turkey and establishing stable cultural and scientific relations through agreements that have been and will be concluded. He also pointed out that the opening of the 3D Printing Laboratory at the Faculty of Technology represents the next step after the opening of the audio, montage and photography studios at the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture (Branch 3).

The Turkish ambassador stressed the importance of partnership and cooperation with the Lebanese University, and said that the laboratory is a simple type of work that we carry out in the Agency among other activities, and that it is not the first cooperation and will not be the last with the Lebanese University.

TİKA's Beirut Office Coordinator hoped that the lab will facilitate the students' work and open opportunities for other students to benefit from the lab in coordination with the Lebanese University.
