Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Medical & Food Microbiology from the University of Lille 2 - France in 1989;
  • Master in Life & Health Sciences from Lille 1 University of Science and Technology - France in 1986;
  • Bachelor in Microbiology from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah - Saudi Arabia in 1985.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Public Health (Branch 3) of the Lebanese University in 1991;
  • Head of the Department of Laboratory Sciences at the Faculty of Public Health (Branch 3) of the Lebanese University, and participated in a number of academic committees affiliated with the faculty;
  • Director of the Microbiology, Health and Environment Laboratory (LMSE) of the Doctoral School of Science & Technology and the Faculty of Public Health of the Lebanese University since 2009;
  • Representative of the Teaching Staff of the Faculty of Public Health (Branch 3) at the Lebanese University between 2002-2003 and 2007-2011;
  • Supervisor and rapporteur of dozens of scientific researches, master theses and doctoral dissertations between Lebanon and France;
  • Representative of the French Society for Microbiology (SFM) in Lebanon since 1995;
  • Member of the Pasteur Institute of Lille in France;
  • Member of the Arab Society of Chemotherapy, Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, and an associate member of the Lebanese Society for Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (LSIDCM);
  • General coordinator of a number of research projects, including within the CEDRE program and Mérieux Foundation;
  • Author of a group of literature and publications on antibiotics, microbiology and fungi, and has several participations in scientific publications published globally and local and international conferences within his field of competence.
