  • Specialized Diploma in Brain & Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1999;
  • AFSA Certificate from Pierre & Marie Curie University, France in 1998;
  • Specialized Diploma in Internal Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1996;
  • Doctor of Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1991.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Lebanese University since 2000: Faculty of Public Health: 2000-2014; Faculty of Medical Sciences: 2002-present; Faculty of Dental Medicine: 2010-present; Faculty of Pharmacy: 2000-2013
  • General coordinator of theoretical and clinical lessons at the Faculty of Medical Sciences since 2019;
  • Coordinator of the University Committee for Research Ethics at the Lebanese University since 2019 and member since its inception in 2012;
  • Head of the Department of Medical Ethics & Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences since 2012;
  • Member of the Scientific Council of the Neuroscience Research Center of the Faculty of Medical Sciences since 2015;
  • Teaching staff delegate of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in the university council since 2019;
  • Member of the Lebanese National Consultative Committee for Ethics in the Life & Health Sciences (CCNLE) since 2018;
  • Consultant of brain and neurology in a number of Lebanese hospitals;
  • Current member of the Lebanese Neurological Society, and President between 2012-2013;
  • Member of the Francophone and French Society of Medical Ethics (SFFEM), the Alzheimer's Association International Society (ISTART) and the International Neuropsychological Society (INS);
  • Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the British Royal College of Physicians (RCP);
  • Coordinator of continuous training courses in Lebanon in cooperation with the American Academy of Neurology and the World Federation of Neurology (WFN-AAN) between 2006-2012;
  • Former lecturer at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, the University of Balamand and the Institute of Nursing Sciences of Saint George Hospital University Medical Center;
  • Author of dozens of research papers and scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed scientific books and journals, especially on the topics of neuroscience, memory, stem cells, medical ethics and clinical research in Lebanon;
  • Awarded a number of honors and awards, including the Cyprus Neurological Society Award in 2011, the Institute of Neurology at UCL-London in 2012, and the Jordanian Neurological Society Award in 2012.
