Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Technical Sciences from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 1985;
  • Master in Electromechanics from Moscow Polytechnic/Applied Institute in 1981;
  • Diploma in Engineering / Electrical Machinery Engineering from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute - Ukraine in 1980;
  • Certificate of conducting research and training from Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 2003;
  • Expert Certificate in “Industrial System Integration” from the joint project between the Lebanese University and the European Union (TEMPUS - FINSI) in 2005 and 2006.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) at the Lebanese University in 1985 until retiring in 2020;
  • Director of the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) between 2012-2015;
  • Head of the Department of Electricity & Electronics at the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) between 1995-1999;
  • Member of the University Buildings Committee at the Lebanese University in 2010;
  • Participated in the development of the RFP for the rehabilitation of the electrical network at the Faculty of Science (Branch 3) and supervised its implementation between 2006-2007;
  • Member of the Committee of Delegates in the League of Full-time Professors at the Lebanese University between 2003-2005;
  • Member of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Tripoli since 1981, and member of the Council of Delegates between 1999-2003;
  • Member of the Association of Professional Engineers Australia (APEA) since 1989;
  • Supervisor of a number of graduation projects for students of the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) in the laboratories of the faculty, laboratories of foreign universities and Lebanese industry centers;
  • Supervising professor of Applied Works in Electrical Instruments Laboratory/University (RMIT) - Melbourne - Australia between 1989-1990;
  • Former president and current secretary of Al Salam Cultural and Social Club and the Youth of Tomorrow Sports Association in the North;
  • Author of around 18 scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and participated in local and international scientific conferences.
