The Lebanese University participates with USJ in a report on “Mycotoxins in the Lebanese Food Basket”

The Lebanese University participated with Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) in preparing and issuing the first report of its kind in Lebanon, which includes a scientific database related to mycotoxins in the Lebanese food basket.

The team from the Lebanese University was formed from the Faculties of Science and Public Health and the National Center for the Quality of Medicine, Food, Water and Chemicals (LFDCA), headed by Dr. Nazih Bou Chahine, and included Prof. Maha Hoteit, Coordinator of the Nutrition Monitoring Committee at the Center and Coordinator of the Master of Clinical Nutrition and Public Health at the Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1) and Professor Ali Atwi, Researcher at the Faculty of Science.

The USJ team consisted of Professor Andre El-Khoury, Master’s Coordinator in the Department of Food Chemistry and Head of the Laboratory of Mycotoxins and Food Safety (LMSA) of the Faculty of Science and Dr. Rouaa Daou.
