Scientific Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine from Saint Joseph University, Beirut in 1981;
Diploma of Specialized Studies in General Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal - Canada in 1986;
Diploma in General Laparoscopic Surgery from Saint Joseph University, Beirut in 1997.

Professional Career

Lecturer at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1987 and Dean between 2008 and 2009;
Chairman of the jury for clinical oral and written examinations for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th year students at the Faculty of Medical Sciences - Lebanese University between 1992 and 2008;
Chair and member of the jury for PhD dissertations at the Faculty of Medical Sciences - Lebanese University between 1992 and 2011;
General Director of the Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui since 2011;
Member of the official committee for the Colloquium Examination in General Medicine appointed by the Ministry of Education & Higher Education between 1994 and 2018;
Member of the National Hospital Accreditation Committee and Member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) in the Ministry of Public Health;
Member of the Lebanese Society for General Surgery;
Member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee of the Lebanese Order of Physicians between 2008 and 2010;
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS);
Author of a number of scientific studies and publications on cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis, endocrine diseases, immune deficiency and infections;
Participant as organizer and lecturer in local and international medical conferences, and supervisor of the examinations of doctors nominated to contract with the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces (ISF).
