  • PhD in Sociology from the Lebanese University in 2007;
  • Master of Advanced Study in Sociology from the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 1995;
  • Master in Sociology from the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 1992;
  • BA in Sociology from Saint Joseph University in Beirut in 1990.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 2007 and holder of the rank of professor in 2015;
  • Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University since 2016;
  • Lecturer as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture of the Lebanese University between 2010 and 2014;
  • Member of the University Council;
  • Member of the strategic planning and communication committees of the Lebanese University Council;
  • Head of the Demography Laboratory at the Research Center of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University;
  • Head of the Scientific Committee and the Curricula and Program Development and Quality Control Committees at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University;
  • Member of the Lebanese Association of Sociology and the Scientific Society of Demography;
  • Rapporteur and supervisor of Master thesis and PhD dissertations in Sociology at the Lebanese University;
  • Worked with several UN organizations and various sectors in Lebanon and abroad;
  • Technical Coordinator for the Mediterranean Living Heritage project (MedLiHer) - Phase 3 in cooperation with the UNESCO, the EU, the House of the World's Cultures and the National Committee for UNESCO in Lebanon in 2012;
  • Author of many publications and scientific papers on social, developmental and cultural topics;
  • Participant in local and international conferences, seminars and workshops on promoting scientific research, sustainable development goals, preserving cultural heritage, and the role of municipalities in local development.
