Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Tours - France in 1979.
  • 3rd cycle PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Tours - France in 1976.
  • BA and MA in French Literature from the University of Lyon - France in 1973.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 1980 and holder of the rank of Professor in 1988.
  • Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences between 2004-2013.
  • Director of the Institute of Social Sciences (Branch 3) between 1981-1984 and 1988-1993.
  • Director of Postgraduate Studies at the Institute of Social Sciences between 2001-2002 and 2003-2004.
  • Supervisor and rapporteur of dozens of diplomas, master theses and PhD dissertations for Lebanese University students.
  • Advisory member in a number of Lebanese and Arab magazines and periodicals, including the refereed quarterly "Al-Hadatha Magazine".
  • Author of publications, studies and translations published in Arabic and French.
  • Winner of the Arab Creativity Award for the most important book for the year 2017, from the Arab Thought Foundation, for his book “The clash of Arab Nervousness”.
