Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Arabic Language & Literature from the Lebanese University in 1999;
  • PhD in Arabic Language & Literature from Saint Joseph University of Beirut in 1986;
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Arabic Language & Literature from the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University in 1982;
  • Bachelor in Arabic Language & Literature from the Faculty of Pedagogy and the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1981.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences of the Lebanese University in 1992 until retirement in 2017;
  • Holder of the rank of Professor in 2009;
  • Dean of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences between 2016-2017;
  • Teaching Staff Delegate at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 1) at the faculty council;
  • Head of the Department of Arabic Language & Literature at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 1) for one year;
  • Member of the scientific committee supervising the teaching of languages at the Lebanese University and the scientific committee responsible for conducting interviews with new professors at the university;
  • Lecturer of Arabic language and literature at the Faculty of Sharia, affiliated to Dar Al-Fatwa, in the Lebanese Republic;
  • Trainer for secondary education teachers on the new curricula in the Faculty of Pedagogy and Teachers’ House, commissioned by the Center for Educational Research and Development (CRDP);
  • Coordinator of the Arabic language book writing team for the secondary stage in the Kingdom of Bahrain (developed curricula);
  • Author of publications, university research, articles in literature, language, education, and poetry collections;
  • Participated in several local and Arab conferences, seminars and exhibitions;
  • Elected Secretary-General of the Lebanese Writers Union on October 11, 2019, and submitted his resignation in 2020.
