Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Philosophy from the University of Paris I in 1985;
  • Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences at the Lebanese University in 1973;
  • BA in Arabic Language & Literature from Beirut Arab University in 1972.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Lebanese University in 1986;
  • Dean of the Faculty of Information at the Lebanese University between 1997-2001;
  • Director of the Institute of Social Sciences (Branch 1) between 1995-1997;
  • Coordinator of the Committee for Acceptance of Postgraduate Diploma theses at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences between 2005-2007;
  • Coordinator of the Committee for the Acceptance of PhD Dissertation Projects in the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences between 2001-2002, and a member of the committee for the academic year 2005-2006;
  • Member of the Scientific Council at the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences from 2008 until retirement;
  • Member of the Committee for Coordinating Academic Programs for Research Masters and Setting Research Laboratories Specifications at the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences from 2008 until retirement;
  • Supervisor and rapporteur of a large group of PhD dissertations, diploma and master theses at the Lebanese University, Beirut Arab University, and Jinan University;
  • Held the UNESCO Chair for Media & Documentation Sciences between 1997-2001;
  • Head of the Social Sciences Committee in the committees for developing new programs and curricula for vocational and technical education in Lebanon between 1996-1997;
  • Author of a collection of published literature, research and articles.
