Scientific Qualifications
- PhD in Agricultural Sciences from France in 1973;
- PhD in Plant, Water and Soil Sciences from the University of Montpellier, France, in 1983;
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences from the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University in 1970.
Professional Career
- Lecturer at the Lebanese University – Faculty of Science in 1974;
- Co-founder and Dean of the Lebanese University – Faculty of Agronomy between 1985 and 1997;
- Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration for 3 months in 1985;
- Chairman of the Agricultural Scientific Research Foundation until 1998;
- Secretary General of the National Council for Scientific Research since 1998;
- Founder and director of several programs, including the national policy for science, technology and innovation, programs to support participatory scientific research, research units, and the preparation of specialized human resources;
- Author of dozens of scientific literature and books issued by regional and international publishing houses;
- Awarded several high honors from Italy and France, and two honorary PhDs from French universities;
- Assigned key positions in a number of international organizations and programs, including (AUF - UNESCO - IAEA - CEDER).
