LU Professor Jaafar Abdulkhalek registered an innovative patent entitled "Lebanon Database"
Professor Jaafar Abdulkhalek from the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration (Branch 4) registered a literary and technical patent in the Ministry of Economy & Trade related to a statistical indicators program covering all Lebanon under the name "Lebanon Database".
The program includes statistical data on 190 general indicators. It is based on the methodology of a documented primary statistical base by calculating the population in a sequential manner from the official public lists and correcting them periodically and deriving the coefficient of change to convert them to the population and then confirming the income level. Accordingly, a set of demographic, economic, financial, educational, industrial, agricultural, tourism, banking, public accounts and debt indicators was deduced, after dealing with the temporal statistics of independent and dependent variables by means of the SPSS program.
The flexibility of the database contributes to the ease of retrieval and modifications (Updates & Feedback) and the expansion of the database and the more accurate socio-economic indicators.
Professor Abdulkhalek holds a PhD in international economics and international relations and a PhD in economics and development from Prague University of Economics and Business. He authored books, research and studies related to economic analysis and decision-making, economic feasibility of projects, opportunities for sustainable Arab development, economic exits to Lebanon crises and the partnership between public and private sectors.
