Charbel Hayek from the Faculty of Engineering wins the Lebanon Prize in the International Youth Math Challenge 2020
Student Charbel Hayek, from the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 2 - Second Year Engineering), won the Lebanon National Award and the Gold Honor Award in the “International Youth Math Challenge 2020” on 14 December 2020.
This challenge is one of the largest international online math competitions that bring together students from all over the world. This year, 6,500 participants from 98 countries have registered.
The challenge competitions took place online through three stages, the first began in October 2020, which is the registration or participation, then the participants moved to the semi-final in November 2020, which included a period of seven days to solve 10 math problems, while the final exam was organized on 7 December 2020, and results were issued on 14 December 2020.
Charbel previously won local prizes in math and physics competitions organized in the Lebanese American University (LAU) and American University of Science and Technology (AUST).
