Noura Raad, graduate of the Lebanese University awarded “Best PhD Dissertation in Comparative Law and Foreign Laws” in Aix-Marseille University
The Lebanese University graduate, Dr. Noura Raad was awarded “Best PhD Dissertation in Comparative Law and Foreign Laws" by the Faculty of Law & Political Sciences in Aix-Marseille University, France on 16 January 2020.
Noura won the award based on her PhD Dissertation entitled “The situation of women in the comparative French-Lebanese Penal Code”, which was deliberated in December 2018 and accomplished under the joint supervision of Prof. Leila Saadeh of the Lebanese University - Doctoral School of Law, Political, Administrative and Economic Sciences and Prof. Sylvie Cimamonti of the Doctoral School in Legal and Political Science, Aix-Marseille University.
Prior to her PhD, Noura obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Law, Political and Administrative Sciences – (Filière Francophone de droit), and pursued her studies in criminal law and comparative legal studies at Aix-Marseille University. She holds a certificate of attendance from the Center for Studies and Research of the Hague Academy of International Law on the topic "The international struggle for women's rights".
Dr. Raad also participated in specialized courses in international criminal law - the Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights, and other courses related to the situation of migrant women with the European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW) based in Greece.
