- PhD in Sociology of Knowledge from the Lebanese University in 1991;
- Postgraduate Diploma in Anthropology from the Lebanese University in 1986.
Professional Career
- Lecturer at the Lebanese University in 1991 until 2016;
- Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 2014;
- Supervisor and rapporteur of dozens of master's theses, doctoral dissertations and research in the field of social sciences at the Lebanese University and a number of Arab universities and research centers;
- Researcher specializing in contemporary Islamic studies and an expert on Islamic movements;
- Member of the Board of Trustees of Azm University and President of the Cultural Center for Dialogue and Studies in Lebanon for several years;
- Former General Supervisor of the Documentary & Cultural Heritage Revival Project in Tripoli;
- Former member of the Lebanese Writers Union;
- Author of 32 books, 14 joint works and about 80 papers published in refereed and specialized journals on sociology, education, population, economics, and Islamic movements;
- Passed away in 2020.
