The Lebanese University retains the title of universities in rapid chess

The Lebanese speed chess team retained the Universities Championship for another year after it won 38.5 points after the conclusion of the second and final stage of the competitions held at the Arab Open University.

 

The team was accompanied by the head of the Sports Activity Department, Ahmad Hazer, and the committee in charge of following up chess affairs, consisting of coaches Saleh Zaiter, Abdelkarim Fakih, and Mehdi Zeineddine.

 

International referee Elias Khairallah supervised the technical organization and led the competitions, assisted by federal referee Osama Hijazi.

 

For the second consecutive season, the Sports Activity Department hosted the university cross-country championship at the Rafik Hariri University Campus – Hadath and Serena Hayek (FLHS - Branch 2) won the race, finishing ahead of the 49 other contestants.
