Dr. Nael Berri obtains a European patent on creating a technology for treating food allergies

Dr. Nael Berri, Research Professor at the Neuroscience Research Center of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, obtained a patent from the European Patent Office, for developing a method for depositing a substance on a substrate.

In his research, which formed part of his doctoral dissertation from UCL-University College London in the United Kingdom, Dr. Berri focused on appropriate therapeutics to counter the increased prevalence of food allergies and develop knowledge of drug active ingredient deposits.

The patent relates to the development of a new spray technology that can be used in a number of applications, especially in the treatment of food allergies. This innovation allows for the fine precipitation of proteins or another mixture of liquids, on a substrate compared to traditional technologies found today.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Berri holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and a Master's degree in Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering from UCL University in London.
