
Jad Sleiman, graduate of the Lebanese University awarded for simulating the worldwide issue of environmental pollution in silent films
Jad Sleiman, graduate of the Lebanese University - Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture (Master in Cinematography - 2018) received local and international awards for his two scientific silent films entitled “RGB” and “Smog”.
In the film “RGB”, abbreviations for the primary colors of light (Red - Green - Blue), Jad tells the story of a lonely man from prehistoric times who discovers in his cave a black liquid; after which his life changes.
The master graduation film “RGB”, won the Jury Special Mention at the Maskoun Film Festival - Beirut 2018, one of the most important festivals for horror, fantasy, action, motion and science fiction films.
In the film "Smog", Jad chose to highlight the problem of environmental pollution, in particular the industrial smoke threatening Planet Earth, by telling the story of a girl living in difficult environmental conditions and trying to reach sunlight from the roof of a factory.
The bachelor graduation film "Smog" participated in film festivals in Lebanon, UAE, Germany and Netherlands and won the Best Director and Best Cinematography Awards at the 8th NDU Film Festival and the Special Mention at the Lebanese Film Festival - 2016.
